Black-throated Diver Regularly occurring, every year or two.
Great Northern Diver Annual (small numbers - 1 or 2 per year), most records from
Newton Point and Beadnell Bay in late autumn and winter.
Red-necked Grebe Annual in small numbers, occurs mainly in autumn and winter.
Slavonian Grebe Annual, winters in small numbers, Beadnell Bay is a favoured site.
Black-necked Grebe Regularly occurring every year or two.
Sooty Shearwater Annual, variable in numbers. Occurs mainly in late July, Aug and
Sept.
Storm Petrel Regular, occurring every year or two.
Garganey Regular and almost annual at Newton Pool.
Velvet Scoter Annual in small numbers.
Long-tailed Duck Winters in small numbers, Football Hole is a favoured site.
Osprey Regularly occurring every year or two, mainly on spring passage.
Jack Snipe Annual in autumn at Newton Pool and Football Hole.
Wood Sandpiper Regularly occurring every year or two.
Pomarine Skua Regularly occurring every year or two.
Mediterranean Gull Annual in small numbers.
Little Gull Annual, often visits Long Nanny tern site during the summer.
Roseate Tern Annual, small numbers occur each year at Long Nanny tern site.
Black Tern Annual, most often in Aug/Sept, Long Nanny and Newton Pool
are favoured sites.
Little Auk Regularly occurring every year or two often in November.
Turtle Dove Rare migrant, has occurred just a few times.
Short-eared Owl Annual in small numbers.
Long-eared Owl Little known, has occurred as a migrant in autumn.
Kingfisher Coastal migrant has occurred a few times.
Black Redstart Regularly occurring every year or two often at Newton Point.
Ring Ouzel Almost annual migrant occurring in both spring and autumn.
Twite Wintering species, small flocks of up to 100 birds can often be seen
wintering at the Long Nanny.
Crossbill Has occurred as a migrant a few times.
Snow Bunting Annual in small numbers, Long Nanny is a favoured site.
